The Emotional Answering Machine

Emotional Answering Machine is a work that questions the emotional and communicational saturation of our era. The character, seated on a stool, holds several red telephone receivers in their hands, symbols of the incessant calls, the multiple voices that solicit us.

Their face is replaced by a smiling emoji, frozen in an expression of universal joy. This digital mask becomes the automatic response, the emotional filter that we project in response to the world's solicitations. The work thus translates the tension between vintage communication (analog telephones) and digital expression (the emoji), in a pop and contemporary aesthetic.

The pink circle behind the figure acts as a halo, highlighting this modern condition: being constantly connected, solicited, and having to respond with a smile, whether sincere or imposed. Emotional Answering Machine becomes a visual metaphor for contemporary identity, traversed by flows of emotions and communications.
