Angelo Guessan
Born in 2003 in Manoufla, Marahoué region, Angelo Guessan is an Ivorian painter and street artist who is among the flagships of the new generation of artists in Côte d'Ivoire.
Drawn to visual arts at an early age, young Angelo Guessan quickly distinguished himself as a self-taught artist through depictions of scenes in the street art movement starting in 2015.
From 2019, he joined the Centre Technique des Arts Appliqués de Bingerville, where he obtained a Technical Certificate in Applied Arts with a specialization in Pictorial Expression, before continuing his training at the Institut Supérieur des Arts et de l'Action Culturelle (INSAAC) in Abidjan Cocody.
Driven by his love for painting and the richness of his culture and origins, Angelo Guessan explores the theme of transmitting ancestral values in his creative palette.
This young prodigy, endowed with extraordinary creative potential, has successfully bridged the gap between street art and contemporary Ivorian figurative painting.
His productions combine urban aesthetic compositions with large portraits, stemming from traditional dances of western Côte d'Ivoire. This blend is plastically expressed through a flourishing of colors, collages of materials, papers, recycled textile fabrics, cowries, and compressed paint.
In 2020, Angelo Guessan made history at the AKoula hotel by creating a fresco on the establishment's fences. In 2024, he participated in the 1st Graffiti Festival in Côte d'Ivoire and in 2025 in the "echo des murs" exhibition organized by the BJKD foundation.
